My dear friend Leslie married Warren last week, and I was blessed to travel to the land of sunshine to be a part of the festivities. It’s always exciting to travel and try new/different food and see sights that you don’t see on an everyday basis. The combination of the shore with the mountains right beside it always astounds me. Plus, palm trees so tall that you wonder how they don’t snap off at the top when they start to bend are just bizarre and cool at the same time.
Their wedding also introduced me to the 10-course Chinese banquet reception featuring shark’s fin soup and mango pudding and Peking Duck and maybe some jellyfish that I might have eaten thinking it was sauteed onions. All of it surprised my palate in the best way. My one food regret was a craving for tacos that went unfulfilled. There’s only so much time, and this wasn’t really a sight-seeing trip. It was a wonderful celebration of a new page in my friends’ lives, of their commitment and their covenant. With adorable touches of course, like felt flower bouquets for us and a sparkling brooch bouquet for her.
Their photographer Becca Rillo and her assistant captured much better shots of course! Check it out: Warren and Leslie.
